ECO-TOUR
Join us for the first in a series of local Eco-Tours hosted by Thomas Sweeney .We will board a comfortable,
covered 40' pontoon boat on the WITHLACOOCHEE RIVER in Dunnellon, FL. Our guide Jon Semmes is not
only a USCG licensed Capt. He is a sensational musician and entertainer! Capt. Jon will share his knowledge
of Florida's ecology through story and song. We will spend about half the tour on each of two very different
rivers. The RAINBOW RIVER, is a crystal clear spring fed river that empties into the WITHLACOOCHEE which
is dark, tannic and swamp fed. Where the two rivers meet you'll be able to observe the distinct "line", it's an
amazing example of a THERMOCLINE! Capt. Jon will share his knowledge of the local wildlife including
numerous species of fish and birds along with turtles, alligators and may even see the elusive river otters at
play! After the approximate 1 hour and 40 minute tour we will take a quick ride thru the Dunnellon Historic
District before heading to a very fun and popular restaurant right on the RAINBOW RIVER! Price includes
admission to all locations.
